Syria welcomes the ICJ decision on the Legal Consequences of Israeli occupation policies

Syria has welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legal consequences of the Policies and Practices of “Israel” in the Occupied Palestinian territories, stressing that this constitutes momentum for immediate work to end this usurping occupation, according to SANA News Agency.

“The Syrian Arab Republic welcomes the decision of the International Court of Justice on the legal consequences of Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Al-Quds (Jerusalem)” ,the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Sunday.

Syria considers that the adoption of this important resolution constitutes an impetus for immediate action to put an end to this usurping occupation, and at the same time, it stresses that the international will must be affirmed not to recognize the situation resulting from the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and not to provide aid or assistance for its continuation.

The Syrian Arab Republic condemns the United States’s criticism of this resolution, which demonstrates its persistence in securing absolute protection for this occupying entity and its continued support for the genocidal war to which the Palestinian people have been subjected for more than nine months.

Syria once again expresses its full support for the Palestinian people’s struggle to end the occupation and enjoy their inalienable rights, including their right to establish their independent state with Al-Quds
as its capital and to obtain full membership in the United Nations, and it also calls on all countries of the world and the United Nations to take a decisive stand against the policies of settlement expansion, house demolition and genocide against our people in Palestine “ the Ministry concluded.
