Prisoner Club: The number of female prisoners in the occupation detention centers has risen to 83 amid tragic circumstances

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club confirmed that the number of female prisoners in Israeli occupation detention centers has increased this month to 83, after the Israeli  forces detained five female prisoners this week, including two sisters from Nablus in the West Bank.
The Club explained in its report today that this data includes only female prisoners whose identities are known to prisoner institutions, and they are from the West Bank, including the occupied city of Al-Quds(Jerusalem) and the territories occupied in 1948, and the majority of them are detained in the “Damoun” detention center, including three female prisoners from the Gaza Strip, including a mother and her daughter.
The Club pointedto the escalation in the targeting of Palestinian women coincides with the ongoing genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the afflicted Gaza Strip for 286 days, indicating that the campaign of arrests affected all women from all over the Palestinian geography and did not exclude minors, and was accompanied by operations of abuse, threats, assaults, vandalism of their homes, intimidation of their children, and confiscation of their property.
Regarding the conditions of detention inside the occupation prisons, the Club explained that female prisoners suffer extremely harsh, systematic conditions by the occupation forces as a result of the policy of complete isolation from the outside world, stripping them of their most basic rights, deprivation of necessary supplies, and following a policy of starvation, in addition to a policy of deliberate medical neglect and inspection as well as shame and psychological warfare through constant threats against their families during the period of detention.
The Prisoners’ Club called on the United Nations and international humanitarian institutions to pressure the occupation to stop its violations against male and female prisoners in the Zionist detention centers and to intervene immediately to release those detained.
