China renews its support for establishing an independent Palestinian state and calls for an end to the aggression on Gaza

China condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip and the collective punishment it is imposing on its residents, calling for an immediate end to this aggression.

Xinhua reported that Fu Cong, China’s permanent representative to the United Nations, highlighted the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from ongoing aggression and a severe humanitarian crisis, resulting in the deaths of more than 38,000 Palestinians. He made the remarks yesterday in an open debate of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East.

He said: “The international community must unite all its efforts to promote a ceasefire in order to save lives and alleviate the ongoing disaster without delay,”

He indicated that Washington’s announcement “to close the floating platform has once again demonstrated that land transportation is the most effective means to expand the reach of humanitarian aid.

He called on the Israeli occupation authorities to lift the blockade it imposes on the Strip and open all land crossings to ensure the rapid and safe delivery of humanitarian aid.

He also condemned the Israeli attacks on humanitarian agencies and their staff, calling for comprehensive investigations and accountability.

He reiterated China’s firm support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, stressing in this regard the importance of respecting the will of the Palestinian people.

He called for a larger and more reliable international peace conference to set a concrete timetable for achieving this goal.
