Opinions of voters in the elections of the People’s Assembly

The People’s Assembly elections in Syria began today at seven in the morning.

The number of candidates reached 1,516, competing for 250 seats at the People’s Assembly. Lists with their names were prepared and sent to all polling stations, which numbered 8,151 polling stations in all Syrian governorates.

“Syria Times” shed light on these elections and interviewed some voters who cast their votes at the electoral center established at the Al-Wahda Establishment for Press, Printing, Publication and Distribution in Damascus.

The Candidate, Journalist Ibtisam Al-Maghribi told Syriatimes that People came to choose a member of the People’s Assembly who expresses their aspirations and tries to solve their problems.

“It is the first time I ran for the People’s Assembly election because I want to serve the citizens. I am with the people and my duty is to express the people’s concerns” she said.

For her part, Malak, a voter, said that the people want a strong performance by members of the new People’s Assembly.

Lina, another voter, said that the atmosphere is wonderful and elections are successful. It is our right, as citizens, to choose our candidate in a discipline way.

For her part, Maha said we exercised our right to vote. The elections are transparent and there are no obstacles, we elected smoothly and easily.

In turn, Ahmad, also a voter, said “we chose our candidates whom we think are qualified for representing us”.
