Prime Minister, Foreign Minister cast their votes in People’s Assembly elections

Damascus, ST) – Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Mikdad cast their votes in the People’s Assembly elections at the polling center in the Cabinet building.

In a statement, Arnous stressed that the People’s Assembly elections are an important constitutional entitlement and Syria has completed all preparations on time to enable all segments of society to choose their representatives.

Arnous said: We are in a new stage in which we look forward to building modern Syria and we wish the elected assembly success as to be able to carry out all the tasks assigned to it in the next stage, which is the reconstruction phase.

The Prime Minister clarified that any voter has the right to elect whoever he sees as capable of undertaking this task. He added that all enemies are looking at these elections with anguish because the Syrians are making their future with their own hands.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said: We are entering a new phase in the history of Syria that represents a continuation of the achievements it has made under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad, and the People’s Assembly elections are a true expression of the Syrian people’s belief in democracy.
