DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)-The Syrian flag was raised on Monday in the main square of Yabroud after the Syrian Arab Army had taken full control over the town.
Maintenance teams also started rehabilitation works to restore services to the city as soon as possible. Electricity workshops began the maintenance of high-voltage networks which were damaged by the armed terrorist groups in the city.
Yesterday, the Syrian army pushed back the foreign-backed terrorists from Yabroud, which was the last major stronghold for the terrorists in the mountainous region of Qalamoun, near the Lebanese border.
The takeover of Yabroud will cut the supply lines of the foreign-sponsored terrorists and mercenaries and is considered as a major strategic gain for the Syrian army.
