Ghebreyesus: There is no safe place in the Gaza Strip

GENEVA, JUL.9, (ST)_The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has affirmed that there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip, noting that recent reports about Israeli evacuation orders in the city hinder the treatment of the injured people.

Ghebreyesus said in a tweet published on the “X” platform: “Al-Ahly Al-Ma’amadani”Hospital and the “Patient’s Friends” Hospital in Gaza City were out of service, and the patients were evacuated and referred to the “Kamal Adwan” Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital, which are suffering from a lack of fuel, beds, and medical supplies.

Ghebreyesus indicated that “Al-Hilu” Hospital, which is located within the areas where the evacuation order was issued, is still partially operating, in addition to the “Al-Sahaba” and the “Al-Shifa” Hospital, but these hospitals may not be able to work as quickly as required, due to “hostilities” in the neighboring areas. or obstruct access to it.

The Director of the World Health Organization concluded his tweet by calling for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation army is intensifying its brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip, causing tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, large waves of displacement, massive destruction and a dangerous famine that threatens the lives of the population.
