Putin: The multi-polar world has become a reality

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that the multipolar world has become a reality, pointing to the expansion of the circle of countries supporting a just global order, and the emergence of new centers of power and development in the world.
Putin said in a speech before the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held in the Kazakh capital, Astana, today: “In light of the rapid changes in the world, there is a need for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s proactive position in international affairs, and we are completely certain that the Organization and the BRICS group represent the foundation of the new world order being formed. It is a vehicle for global development and the establishment of international pluralism.”
Putin pointed out that “the circle of countries calling for a just world order and ready to resolutely defend their legitimate rights and traditional values is expanding, and new centers of power and development are strengthening globally,” noting that “the International Unity Initiative for Global Harmony put forward by the Shanghai Organization aims to ensure “Conditions for sustainable growth are equal for all, regardless of political and economic system or religious and cultural affiliation.”
Regarding the situation in Gaza, Putin stressed that unilateral American attempts to resolve the conflict in the Middle East have proven ineffective, indicating that they lead to counterproductive results amid the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip.
Putin said: “The growing conflict in the Gaza Strip threatens the stability of Eurasia,” adding: “History has clearly shown the futility of individual attempts, especially by the United States, to untie the Palestinian knot, their failure to achieve results, and the refusal to implement United Nations resolutions stipulating clearly the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.”
Regarding the role of the Shanghai Organization, Putin explained that Russia attaches great importance to the partnership interaction within the organization, and this interaction continues to develop gradually on the basis of the principles of equality, consideration of each other’s interests, respect for cultural and civilizational diversity, and the search for collective solutions to pressing issues in the field of security.
Putin noted that the draft decision on developing the SCO development strategy until 2035 includes long-term guidelines for further deepening interaction not only in politics and security, but also in economics, energy, agriculture, high technology and innovation, and this is important from the point of view of deepening practical cooperation in all areas within the scope of our organization’s activities.
Putin considered that close economic relations bring clear benefits to all participants, noting in this context that the countries of the Organization are working to increase the use of their national currency in mutual settlements, recalling the Russian proposal to establish its own payment and settlement mechanism in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
