(ST) -The General Federation of Peasants (GFP) presented to the government several proposals to address the problems and obstacles that hinder the work process.
The GFP asked the government that there must be a new study of the prices of agricultural crops before the harvesting season to encourage farmers to cultivate and support the cultivation of strategic crops and ensuring agricultural production requirements in a timely manner as well as the need to ensure fuel and most importantly, the matter of rescheduling faltering agricultural loans, well-informed sources confirmed to Tishreen daily.
Demands focused on the importance of reducing the prices of fodders, ensuring medicines and vaccines for livestock and the work on the exemption of poultry and cows keepers from the fees and preventing the export of sheep and maintain the local market need.
Upon those proposals, the government has given directions to a number of ministries including finance, oil, agriculture, economy, justice, internal trade, industry, local administration and the General Union of Peasants to study the proposals at full speed again to be reviewed by the Cabinet.
