World Health Organization warns of the interruption of health services in Gaza

The World Health Organization confirmed that the lack of aid reaching the Gaza Strip and the lack of fuel will inevitably affect the health services in the Strip, warning of complete interruption of these services.

The Organization’s regional director, Hanan Balkhi, said in a statement reported on the organization website: “the daily need for fuel to operate the health care sector in Gaza reaches 80,000 liters, and what is currently arriving is not enough to meet these needs”. She described the hospitals’ suffering from fuel shortage as “a danger that threatens to disrupt vital medical services”.

Balkhi indicated that : the health crisis in Gaza reached  catastrophic levels, and is also rapidly escalating and worsening in the West Bank”. She stressed that the organization is determined to remain in the Strip, as it has the capacity and resources necessary to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza, but it lacks the conducive environment to expand its operations as a result of the continuation of the war.

Israel continues its brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip and imposes a complete blockade that prevents the entry of humanitarian aid to the people of the Strip, causing a severe crisis and disaster that seriously affects civilians, including women and children.
