Iran Imposes Sanctions On A Number Of Americans For Violating Human Rights

Tehran-(ST)- Iran has imposed sanctions on a number of Americans involved in serious human rights violations during the suppression of pro-Palestine student protests.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that “in line with the implementation of the law (Combating Human Rights Violations and Terrorist Actions of the United States in the Region), sanctions have been imposed on American persons for violating human rights by suppressing the peaceful protests of students and university professors in the United States who demonstrated in support of the oppressed Palestinian people against the crimes of the Zionist entity in Gaza.”

The statement added: All institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran based on the approvals of the relevant authorities, will take the necessary measures against these people, which include banning the issuance of visas, preventing entry into Iranian territory and freezing bank accounts in the financial and banking system.

The list includes a number of police officers and those responsible for breaking up pro-Palestine student sit-ins at American universities.
