CWRC: Israeli occupation carried out 7,681 attacks against Palestinians during the first half of 2024

The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) has revealed that the Israeli occupation’s  forces and settlers carried out 7,681 attacks against Palestinians, their lands and properties in the West Bank during the first half of this year.

The Commission clarified in a statement released today that the attacks were concentrated in the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) with 1,307 attacks, followed by Al-Quds (Jerusalem) with 1,099, then Nablus with 1,093 attacks, indicating that these attacks ranged from land seizures, settlement expansion, and forced displacement to field executions, sabotage and bulldozing of fields, uprooting trees, and seizing property, closing roads, and erecting barriers that cut off the West Bank.

It  indicated that since the beginning of this year until the end of June, the occupation authorities announced the seizure of more than 26 thousand dunums of West Bank land and 83 plans to expand settlements or build new settlements, including 44 plans to establish 6,723 new settlement units in Al-Quds, while settlers established 17 settlement outposts in the cities of Ramallah, Nablus, Salfit, Bethlehem, Hebron, and Qalqilya.

The Commission pointed out that the occupation demolished 318 homes and facilities in the West Bank, causing harm to 632 Palestinians, including 292 children, while it issued orders to demolish 359 facilities and homes, most of which were in Hebron,  Jericho and Ramallah.

Attacks by the occupation forces and settlers also caused the cutting and the damage of 9,957 trees since the beginning of the year, including 4,097 olive trees in Nablus, Bethlehem, and Hebron as part of its plans to empty Palestinian lands.

Moayyed Shaaban, the CWRC’s head said: “The situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, is very sensitive as the occupation imposes measures with a strategic dimension aimed at annexing large areas of land to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, isolating the city of Jerusalem, emptying it of the Palestinian presence, and obliterating its cultural identity violating international laws and the laws that criminalize all its practices.
