Al-Mikdad receives message of congratulation from Lavrov on 80th anniversary of establishing Syrian-Russian diplomatic ties

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Faisal Al-Mikdad on Sunday received a message of congratulation from his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of establishing the Syrian-Russian diplomatic relations.

Lavrov underlined the deeply-rooted ties between the two countries based on mutual solidarity, friendship and respect, pointing out that cooperation over the past decades between the two countries is constantly developing.

He stressed that Russia highly values effective foreign policy coordination with Syria on major global issues on the international, regional and bilateral agenda in the light of the multiple challenges associated with the profound transformation of the entire system of international relations.

Lavrov reiterated that cooperation between Syria and Russia will continue for the benefit of the two peoples and in the interests of peace and stability in the Middle East region.
