The 44th International Flower Show In Tishreen Park In Damascus kicks Off

Damascus-(ST)- The activities of the 44th International Flower Fair, organized by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Damascus Governorate, kicked off Wednesday evening in Tishreen Park in Damascus.

A number of local and international companies specializing in flower production are participating in the exhibition.

Flower shops, beekeepers, beehive supplies producers, traditional crafts, small family projects are participating in the show and a number of cultural events, including open-air theatrical performances, will be held.

In a statement to reporters, the Minister of Tourism, Engineer Mohamed Rami Martini, explained that the exhibition has become multi-functional, such as cultural and intangible national heritage.

Minister Martini pointed out that the exhibition, which took the Damascene rose as its permanent slogan carries a message of beauty, love and peace from civilized Syria to the world and it is directed to popular and domestic tourism.

In turn, the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatna, explained that the exhibition is an opportunity to remind us of the types of plants suitable for the Syrian environment. It is also an opportunity to export and support the national economy.

For his part, the Governor of Damascus, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati, stated that the exhibition constitutes an opportunity for those interested in ornamental plants, creating new marketing opportunities, and providing visitors with the opportunity to spend an enjoyable time among flowers and follow social and artistic activities.

From the Iraqi delegation, Hamdi Moneim Nasser Al-Issawi explained that flowers are a message of love between peoples, pointing out that their participation this year was represented by 7 representatives from the public and private sectors, some of which included displaying many artifacts that represent Iraqi heritage.
