Syrian wrestlers shine in Beirut

   Beirut,(ST)-The national free-style wrestling national team have achieved remarkable results in the West Asia wrestling Championship currently being held in Beirut.

The national team grabbed eight medals(4 gold,4silver).

Those who won gold were:FirasRifa’i(57 kg);GhazwanLadkani (65 kg);Mohammad Sheikhouni (70 kg);Raja Akrad(120 kg)while the wrestlers who finished second in their categories were:Ahmadbakri(74 kg);Mohammad Ojail(86 kg);Nawzatsalih(97 kg) and Abdul Mu’eenhalabi(61 kg).

With these results, the Syrian team came second after their Iraqi counterparts.

Earlier,the national Greco-roman wrestling team dominated the West Asia championship clinching eight gold medals.

The wrestlers who got a silver medal each were:AhmadMuhawish(59 kg);Mohammad fa’ouri (66 kg);SalihQasab(71 kg);Mahmoud Ghalia(75 kg);Ratibhayek (80 kg);Mahmaoud Hayek(85 kg);Mahmoud Salih (97 kg) and AlaaAzam (130 kg).
