Russian intellectual condemns western unilateral coercive measures against Syria

MOSCOW, JUN.18, (ST)- Director of the Political Information Center in Russia, Alexei Mukhin, has condemned the Western unilateral coercive measures against Syria, pointing out that they are the reason behind prolonging the crisis and deepening the suffering of the Syrian people.

In a statement to the correspondent of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) in Moscow, Mukhin said: “The  West, led by the United States, imposes various sanctions on countries that refuse to comply with its will and desires, to the point that local and international media are no longer able to follow up them.”

He asserted that Western countries have completely deviated from international legitimacy, and worked to impose various sanctions on Russia and its allies based on their own goals.

Mukhin believes that Russia and China are able to respond by imposing similar sanctions on the countries of the  West as well, with the aim of deterring the new colonial approach to which western governments are accustomed.
