Prime Minister Arnous: It is necessary to move towards renewable energy and invest in wind energy

Prime Minister Hussein Arnous stressed the necessity of moving towards renewable energies and expanding investment in wind energy in areas of high wind potential, pointing to the importance of moving towards establishing joint-stock companies for actual investment in the renewable energy sector and the continuous development of the competencies and cadres working in this field.

During his participation in the closing session of the Second Investment Conference in the Electricity Sector, which was held under the title “Investment in Renewable Energy and Electricity is the Engine of Sustainable Development in Syria” today, Prime Minister Arnous pointed to the importance of the conference as it touches on the most important vital sectors, which is the energy sector, which in turn constitutes a basis for the development of various agricultural, industrial, service and tourism sectors.

Premier Arnous also explained that the period between the first and second conferences witnessed the completion of a group of projects in the renewable energies sector, indicating the importance of increasing the pace of investment in this sector in light of the favorable conditions from all legislative and procedural aspects.
The Prime Minister added: There is no other option but to move towards renewable energies as a priority in light of the American occupation and terrorist gangs stealing Syria’s oil derivatives and capabilities.

The Premier expressed hope that the third conference would have a larger capacity than the current one, with the aim of securing the required renewable energies, both photovoltaic and wind.
