“Creative Women 2024” exhibition showcases various heritage works produced by Syrian women in Aleppo

The “Creative Women 2024” exhibition features handicraft products from glass, in addition to painting, Itamin embroidery, and other heritage and traditional crafts presented by 35 women benefiting from the program implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Aleppo.
The technical expert for the Creativity Program, Armek Babazian stated that the exhibition currently being held at the Shahba Hotel in Aleppo will be concluded tomorrow, and it aims to open a sales outlet through which the productive women working at home can display their handicrafts. She pointed out that the selection of participants and beneficiaries of the program is done according to specific criteria with the aim of providing a source of income for them and achieving sustainable development.
Through her participation, Noha Gobi presented textile products to which she added her own wool designs, considering that the craft of embroidery with wool expresses the special taste of the product and creates new patterns, which made her move from an amateur to a professional who presents her products to the local market through exhibitions and points of sale for the program’s beneficiaries.
Participant Qamar Ambarji noted the importance of participating in exhibitions to present women’s interests, and how to transform their ideas from a mere idea into a product that emulates creativity and modernity in highlighting the heritage products that characterize Aleppo.
A variety of glass products bearing many drawings have been displayed at the exhibition. These products reflect the ancient streets of Aleppo and cultural symbols. Such work is considered an art and a message in preserving heritage and presenting it to the new generation in a new style.
Some of the participants, out of their love for children, produced healthy toys for kids that represent children’s favorite characters. The exhibitors exploited their artistic talent in knitting wool to produce various dolls at promotional prices.
