The Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomes the Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Strip, the return of displaced persons to their neighborhoods throughout the Strip, and the entry of humanitarian aid.

In a statement today reported by Wafa Agency, the organization considered that the adoption of this resolution constitutes an important step towards the international community assuming its responsibilities towards stopping the crime of genocide that the occupation has been committing for eight months against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The organization called for concerted efforts and for everyone to assume their responsibilities in order to ensure that its implementation begins immediately.

Yesterday, the UN Security Council adopted a draft resolution submitted by the United States calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the Palestinian presidency welcomed the resolution, noting that it is a step in the right direction to stop the war of genocide.
