Media office in Gaza: The floating pier is an American lie to cover up partnership in the occupation’s massacres

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The media office in Gaza affirmed that the floating pier established by the American army off the coast of Gaza, and the US claim that its goal was to bring in humanitarian aid, is nothing but a lie, through which the American administration sold the illusion to the world public opinion.

The US used this pier to cover up its biased position and partnership with the occupation in its aggression, by showing that it has field efforts to mitigate the impact of the humanitarian catastrophe suffered by more than two million Palestinians in Gaza Strip.

The office stated today that: “Following the World Food Program’s announcement of stopping the entry of its aid into Gaza through the American floating pier due to concerns about the safety of workers, we once again confirm the futility of this pier, as since its establishment , we did not see any serious contribution to alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian situation inside the Strip, and only a very limited number of trucks, not exceeding 120, have passed through it.”

“If the American administration were serious in its approach to mitigate the impact of the humanitarian catastrophe, and were sincere in its intentions to help our people, it would have put pressure on the occupation to open the land crossings and ensure the entry of thousands of aid trucks, and did not contribute to beautifying the image of the occupation by falsely claiming, more than once, by a number of its officials, that aid trucks had increased their entry into the Gaza Strip”, the office added.

The office held the US alongside the occupation responsible for the repercussions of the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza as a result of the aggression, the failure to bring in aid, and the emergence of signs of famine in various areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in northern Gaza.

It called on the international community to take urgent and serious action before it is too late to ensure the entry of aid to all areas of the Strip, and to provide the needs of the service sectors, especially the health system, municipalities and civil defense.
