With more than 25 thousand visitors, BUILDEX , Hi-Tech and Syria International Industrial Exhibitions concluded on Damascus Fairgrounds
The activities of the 21st edition of the International Exhibition for Construction “Buildex 2024” concluded on Saturday evening on Damascus fairgrounds.
The five-day economic event was accompanied by the Information and Communications Technology Exhibition (HITEC) in its tenth edition and the Syrian International Industrial Fair in its eighth edition. Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, said in a statement to the media after his visit to the exhibition that the increase in the number of participants in the exhibition and its visitors from specialists and interested people year after year points to the beginning of recovery for this sector, indicating that exhibitions are always a reflection of the movement of commercial and industrial activity existing in the country.
Minister Al-Khalil considered that the foreign market is an important issue to support all economic policies and Syrian exporters, whether directly through financial support or indirectly through facilities and procedures.
He stressed that export constitutes a basic goal and an important criterion for the success of the nation’s economic growth and achieving competitiveness with foreign markets.
In turn, the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Hussein Akbari, noted the developments witnessed by the exhibition this year in terms of foreign participation.
He expressed the great desire of Iranian companies to participate in such exhibitions and introduce their products and expertise in various fields, as Iran and Syria have great opportunities to strengthen economic relations and cooperation in the field of technologies and communications. The Iranian ambassador emphasized that Iran welcomes any Syrian companies’ participation in Iranian exhibitions as well.
Director of the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Markets, Halim Al-Akhras, said that the exhibition was successful by all standards, in terms of the number of participants and visitors and the method of organization
For his part, the Director General of the Arab Exhibitions Group, Engineer Alaa Hilal, confirmed that holding the three exhibitions simultaneously was aimed at adapting to the current circumstances and overcoming the unjust siege imposed on Syria.
Hilal pointed out that the number of visitors to the three exhibitions exceeded 25 thousand visitors.
It is worth mentioning that the activities of the three exhibitions kicked off on the fourth of June with wide participation from local and international brands in the fields of construction, information and communications technology, industry and alternative energy.
