UNRWA: The occupation’s claim that resistance fighters were inside the UNRWA school in Nuseirat before it was bombed is shocking

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees UNRWA Philippe Lazzarini affirmed that the Israeli occupation’s claim that there were resistance fighters inside an agency-affiliated school in the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza before it was bombed is “shocking.”

Agence France-Presse quoted Lazzarini as saying on the X platform: “The school was bombed without prior warning to the displaced people inside or to the UN agency,” stressing that targeting UN quarters constitutes a blatant disregard for international humanitarian law.

The UN Commissioner pointed out that more than 180 UNRWA buildings had been targeted since the start of the aggression on Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 450 displaced people, stressing the need to stop attacks on UN buildings and hold those responsible accountable.

The Israeli occupation forces committed a new massacre today in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, bombing a school housing thousands of displaced people, which led to the martyrdom of about 40 Palestinians, most of them children and women, and the injury of dozens, including serious cases.

In a related context, the World Health Organization announced that it had documented 464 attacks on health facilities in Gaza Strip since October 7.

The WHO organization explained in a statement that “the Israeli attacks led to the death of 727 pepple from the medical staff, the injury of 933 others, and caused damage to 101 health facilities and 113 ambulances,” calling for “respect for international law and the provision of effective protection for civilians and health care facilities.”
