Minister Al-Munajjid affirms the need to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in order to achieve social justice

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Louay Al-Munajjid stressed the need to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in order to establish the foundations of stability and social justice in preparation for a brighter future of work in which justice and unified standards prevail in dealing with peoples.

Minister Al-Munajjid explained in his speech today at the Asia-Pacific countries meeting on the sidelines of the 112th session of the International Labor Conference in Geneva that a number of countries of the world are facing illegal, unilateral coercive measures, and they must work collectively to put an end to these US-imposed measures noting that Syria is working to adopt the international obligations issued by the International Labor Organization in order to achieve a decent work environment.

Al-Munajjid pointed to the effects of the terrorist war on Syria, the destruction it caused, and the continuation of unilateral coercive measures that deprive Syrians of their right to life and decent work, despite all the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, the Security Council, and the international community.

Minister Al-Munjid stated that the occupied Syrian Golan is still under the usurping Israeli occupation, which is carrying out many criminal practices against Syrian citizens, and is adopting discriminatory measures against the Syrian Golan citizens and depriving them of establishing productive and economic projects on their lands, in addition to confiscating lands and preventing Syrian citizens from accessing them and benefiting from water sources.

It is noteworthy that the activities of the 112th session of the International Labor Conference, organized by the International Labor Organization in Geneva, began on the 3rd of this month and will continue until the 14th, in the presence of representatives of the three labor parties, including governments, employers and workers from 180 countries around the world.
