Gunfire near the US Embassy in Lebanon, the Army arrests the Shooter

Beirut-(ST)- The US Embassy in Lebanon was attacked by an armed person, but no casualties were reported among its employees.
The Lebanese Army said in a statement on X platform:  “A person opened fire this morning at the American embassy, located in the Awkar area near the capital, Beirut, and army personnel deployed in the area responded to the sources of fire, wounding the shooter who was arrested and transferred to a hospital for treatment.”
The statement explained that the army units, deployed in the vicinity of the embassy, are conducting search operation in the surrounding area, and are working to implement the necessary security measures to maintain the security of the area and determine the circumstances of the incident.
