GFW Calls for Stand with Syrian Women, People to Live in Dignity, Freedom

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The General Federation of Women(GFW) stressed that Syrian women have proven throughout history, courage, steadfastness and adherence to their homeland, calling on international and women organizations to stand in support of the Syrian women and people’s right to live in dignity and freedom.

In a statement marking the International Women’s Day which falls day, the GFW said that “Syria, the country of civilization that gave birth to Mary, Ishtar, Julia Dumna and Zenobia is still proving to the whole world that history is only be written by men as men of the Syrian army, and al-Khansa- like women, who brought up their children on true nationalist values.

In the name of humanity, the GFW, appealed women of the world to stand in the face of governments that export terrorism to Syria and support terrorists with money and weapons, and raise their voices in defense of Syria and the right of its people to live in dignity and freedom, ” questioning how much humanity is far from ” democracy and freedom that are bundled with the blood of thousands of Syrians and terrorism exported from kingdoms and principalities of ignorance, backwardness and oil, through murder, deportation, rape and takfiri fatwa. “

“ Where are those who turned a blind eye to the killing of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian, Iraqi and Lebanese peoples and the displacement of thousands of their women and children and when they saw the militant women in Palestine and the occupied Golan tortured and humiliated,” the statement questioned, expressing appreciation to all who syand with Syria and the Syrian women and give them the helping hand, in facing this terrorist war Syria is experiencing.
