Popov clarified in a statement to SANA’s correspondent in Moscow yesterday that the coercive Western economic measures imposed on the Syrian people are part of the Western policy practiced by colonial countries in the past. He pointed out that Syria’s restoration of its position in its Arab and regional environment indicates that conditions in the country are improving, and those who deal with it using previous colonial methods and tools will not succeed in achieving their goals.

In a similar statement, the Head of the Department of Studies of the Middle East and North Africa Countries at the Scientific Research University – Higher School of Economics in Russia, Ambassador Andrei Poklanov affirmed that American policy in general is contrary to objective global laws.
The American policy towards Syria is characterized by the nature of tightening the economic blockade on the Syrian people, and politicizing Providing humanitarian aid to some areas but not others, and trying to denounce dealing with the official government in Damascus based on malicious positions and intentions.
Regarding Western threats to Russia, Poklanov said: The situation on the battlefield is developing rapidly, the defenses of the Ukrainian forces are collapsing, and Russian units are advancing on all fronts.
He pointed to the fears of Western sponsors of the collapse of the entire Ukrainian state, which has no direct relationship to the successes of Russian forces on the ground.
