More than a thousand pilgrims daily leave Damascus Airport for Jeddah Airport, Saudi Arabia

Damascus International Airport has begun operating special flights for Syrian pilgrims to Mecca to perform Hajj rituals, where four planes depart daily, meaning an average of more than a thousand pilgrims per day.
Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy, Abdullah Al-Huraisi, while inspecting the pilgrims’ flights, indicated in a special statement to “Tishreen” newspaper  that the priority is to inspect the conditions of the pilgrims  before they depart for Jeddah Airport in Saudi Arabia while ensuring all their needs.
He pointed out that the government of Saudi Arabia is taking full care of the pilgrims in order  to perform their rituals comfortably and easily. He also thanked the Syrian government for facilitating the affairs of pilgrims and securing all their needs at Damascus International Airport.
The Chargé d’Affaires stressed that the appointment of a Saudi ambassador to Syria is clear evidence of the return of brotherly relations, noting that things will return to being better than they were between the two countries.
For his part, Assistant Minister of Endowments, Hassan Nasrallah, said that the return of the Hajj season to Syria is of great importance, especially after it had stopped for  twelve years .
In turn, the Director of Civil Aviation, Bassem Mansour, indicated that the airport staff seek to secure  the needs of the pilgrims.He indicated that there is also an advanced health center at the airport in order to supervise the  health condition of pilgrims.
Regarding the expectations for the return of Syrian-Saudi airlines to operation, Mansour confirmed that there is approval from the State of Bahrain for the return of Syrian airlines to operation, pointing out that after the completion of the Hajj season, the issue of operating airlines between Syria and Saudi Arabia will be officially worked on.
