The Euro-Mediterranean Observatory calls for an end to the crime of forced displacement in the Gaza Strip

The Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights has renewed its call for an end to the crime of forced displacement committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the occupation is continuing to destroy the remaining residential neighborhoods and UN shelter centers in Jabalia camp in the north of the Strip.

The Observatory said in a statement today: “over the past three weeks, the occupation forces in Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip have deliberately continued the crime of forced displacement of Palestinian civilians through the comprehensive destruction of the remaining life, housing and survival components in the camp, including the removal of entire residential blocks and medical and supply centers. The massive destruction has also affected hundreds of homes and buildings, as well as the total and partial destruction of UN shelter centers and UNRWA medical and supply centers, and the UN – supervised water wells”.

The field inspection conducted by the Observatory team of the conditions in Jabalia camp showed that the camp is suffering the complete destruction of infrastructure.  They also monitored the destruction of all UNRWA headquarters, the burning of its headquarters and the destruction of its documents, as well as the burning of the aid distribution warehouse for refugees.

The Observatory pointed out that the schools and UNRWA headquarters targeted in Jabalia camp were considered shelters for thousands of Palestinians who were displaced by the occupation during the genocidal war.

It indicated that  the systematic and comprehensive destruction of all forms of life and housing in Jabalia camp represents a clear approach repeated in all areas of the Strip in order to consolidate the crime of forced displacement of Palestinians in it. It is part of the acts of the crime of genocide continuing since the seventh of last October.
