The draft law on persons with disabilities is a qualitative leap to guaranteeing  rights

In an effort to support persons with disabilities, integrate them into society, empower them, protect them and preserve their rights in accordance with what is included in the Syrian Constitution and stipulated in their international agreements, a draft law on persons with disabilities has been prepared and is currently being discussed in the People’s Assembly to complete the procedures for its issuance.

A number of representatives of non-governmental organizations who participated in preparing the draft law said that this law  constitutes a qualitative leap in expanding the partnership between various sectors to integrate health, psychological, and educational services.

This law secures job opportunities  for people with disabilities, and allows them to participate in various aspects of life, and to develop legislation, taking into consideration the specificity of Syrian society, needs, and capabilities.

This law also works on:

–         Guaranteeing the rights of persons with disabilities.

–         Facilitating the entry of persons with disabilities into the labor market.

–         Achieving social justice for people with disabilities.
