Dozens of employees in EU institutions reject the approach taken by Brussels regarding what is happening in Gaza
London, (ST) – Dozens of employees in European Union institutions rejected the approach taken by Brussels regarding what is happening in Gaza and its continued ignoring of the genocidal crimes committed by “Israel” against the Palestinians. They called this approach as “Erosion in the international legal system”.
They call on the European bloc to take decisive stances and demand an immediate ceasefire.
More than 200 employees of European Union institutions and agencies warned, in a letter addressed to the Union’s leadership in Brussels, of European silence and continued indifference towards the plight of the Palestinians. They referred that European inaction regarding the genocide crimes in Gaza risks normalizing a global order in which there is the absolute use of force.
Zino Benetti, one of those supervising the preparation of the letter said that the 211 signatories could not believe that the European Union leaders who pay lip service to human rights and claim that Europe defends these rights have remained silent about what is happening in Gaza.
The signatories of the letters of the letter called on the European Union leadership to take a firm stance, demand an immediate ceasefire, and ensure that member states stop direct and indirect arms exports to “Israel”.
It is noteworthy that more than 100 European Union employees recently went out in protest in Brussels to demand an end to the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, with growing criticism and voices opposing the blatant European and American bias towards Israel and the continued support of it with weapons and money despite the ugliness of its crimes in Gaza.
