Brazilian Films Screened at Cinema City in Damascus

With the aim of enhancing cooperation and cultural ties between Syria and Brazil and in confirmation of the role of cinema in consolidating understanding between peoples, the Brazilian Film Festival has recently opened at Cinema City in Damascus.

The first film, that was screened, tells the life story of the genius composer “Pixinguinha,” who believed in an idea that later became the base of what is known today as the “Brazilian Music Day”.

“This festival is part of the activities that we began to hold from the moment we arrived in Syria with the aim of building a cultural bridge and strengthening relations between the two countries so that the two peoples can get to know each other better”, the Brazilian ambassador in Damascus Andre Santos told SANA.

The films that will be screened during the festival are “Eduardo and Monica, Baccaretti, Pixinguinha, and Three Summers”.

The featival, which opened on May 24th continues till May 26th.
