The International Court of Justice orders the Israeli occupation to immediately stop its aggression on Rafah

The International Court of Justice has ordered the Israeli occupation entity to immediately stop its aggression on the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip and ensure the access of UN investigative committees to the Strip to investigate crimes of genocide.

“Israel must immediately cease its military offensive and any other actions in the Rafah governorate that may impose living conditions on the Palestinian population of Gaza that could lead to their physical destruction as a group or in part, “the court said in a statement today.

The court called on the occupation entity to implement the orders it issued earlier, provide basic services in the Gaza Strip, increase humanitarian aid routes and open the Rafah crossing in order to allow the provision of basic services and humanitarian assistance without obstacles and in large quantities.

The court called on the Israeli occupation to submit a report to the International Court of justice on the executive procedures of the new resolution within a month from the date of its issuance.

South Africa, in turn, welcomed the court’s order for the occupation and urged UN member states to support it.

Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor said: “I think it is a more assertive group, in terms of wording, interim measures, a very clear call for a ceasefire, adding:” the order of the International Court of justice is binding and Israel must comply with it.
