Zakharova: The international community is becoming increasingly convinced of the necessity of achieving peace in the Middle East

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: “The recognition of the State of Palestine by a number of European countries is evidence that the tragic events in Gaza Strip will provoke reactions from the international community, which sees the two-state solution as the path to peace in the region.”
Zakharova added in a statement to reporters today: “The tragedy in the Gaza Strip, which is still continuing and claiming the lives of dozens of civilians every day and has so far resulted in the death of tens of thousands and the outbreak of an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, cannot but provoke reactions from the international community, which is increasingly convinced of the necessity of achieving peace in the Middle East through the two-state solution.”
The Russian official pointed out that the symbolic messages and statements issued about the tragedy that the Gaza Strip is experiencing are completely insufficient, explaining that this humanitarian catastrophe has become of a comprehensive nature simply because nothing like it has happened in the past years and decades.
