Popular and official delegations offer condolences on the martyrdom of the Iranian President at the Iranian Embassy in Damascus

Damascus, (ST)  – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus on Wednesday continued to receive delegations mourning the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and their companions, following the crash of the helicopter they were traveling in.

Condolences were offered today by the Vice President of the National Progressive Front, the Ministers of Interior, Administrative Development, Local Administration and Environment, and the President of the General Federation of Trade Unions.

Vice President of the National Progressive Front, Major General Muhammad Al-Shaar said in a speech in the register of condolences: “The National Progressive Front extends to the leadership and people of Iran its warm condolences on this great loss, and wishes them to overcome this ordeal with all strength and faith.”

The Minister of the Interior, Major General Muhammad Al-Rahmoun said in a statement to reporters: “May God have mercy on the martyrs and inspire their families patience and solace”.

Al-Rahmoun added that the martyrs were servants of their people and their country and have a special relationship with Syria, and they are continuing on the same path that they set with firm steps.”

In turn, the Minister of Administrative Development Salam Safaf said: The martyrdom of President Raisi and the Foreign Minister is a great loss for the two countries and the two peoples, and they were dear to the Syrian people anp leadership through the strategic relations between them.

President of the General Federation of Trade Unions Jamal Al-Qadri, extended his deepest condolences to the Iranian people and Iranian workers for this painful tragedy. He considered that Iran, which was built on solid foundations and institutions, is capable of overcoming this ordeal and playing its role at the regional and international levels.

Condolences were also offered by the Governor of Quneitra, the President of the University of Damascus, a number of clerics, tribal sheikhs, tribal notables, popular delegations, businessmen, representatives of institutions and unions.

Condolences were also offered by a number of leaders and representatives of Palestinian factions in Damascus, members of the People’s Assembly, and ambassadors and representatives of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions in Syria.
