Presidency of Syrian Arab Republic announces that First Lady Asma al-Assad diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia and is undergoing treatment

The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic announced Tuesday that after several symptoms and clinical signs  and tests  First Lady, Mrs. Asma al-Assad, was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia.

The Presidency of the Republic elaborated that the First Lady will undergo a special treatment protocol that requires isolation conditions while achieving appropriate social distancing, and thus she will stay away from direct work or participation in events and activities as part of the treatment plan.

Mrs. Asma al-Assad will carry on this treatment phase with all will, determination, and faith in God.
