Algeria, Jordan, Oman, Tunisia offer their condolences on the martyrdom of President Raisi

Capitals (ST) – Several countries expressed their condolences to the Iranian people over the martyrdom of President Ibrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian, and the accompanying delegation, following the crash of the helicopter that was cartying them in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.

The Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed sincere sympathy and solidarity with the political leadership, government and people in Iran, praising Raisi’s positions in supporting the nation’s just causes.

For their part, Sultan of Oman Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the Jordanian King Abdullah II, and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed their sincere condolences, stressing solidarity with the Iranian people in this tragic loss.

In turn, Tunisia offered its condolences stating: “Tunisia received with great sadness the news of the death of the Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and his companions who died in a plane crash yesterday, and on this painful occasion, the Tunisian  leadership and people extend their sincere condolences and sympathy to the Iranian leadership and people”.

In turn, European Council President Charles Michel and European Union foreign policy official Josep Borrell expressed the Union’s condolences on the death of President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdullahian in the helicopter crash yesterday.
