Russian President offers his condolences to Khamenei on the martyrdom of  the Iranian president and his companions

Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his condolences to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ali Khamenei, on the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions, following the helicopter crash.

“We offer our deep condolences for the great tragedy that befell the Iranian people and the air disaster that caused the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, as well as a number of high-level state officials.” Putin said in a cable  published on the Kremlin’s official website.

He expressed: “President Ibrahim Raisi was a prominent politician. He spent his life serving his country and was widely respected in his country as well as around the world”

Putin pointed out that president Raisi contributed to strengthening friendly relations between Iran and Russia in an invaluable way which resulted in the development of bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.”

The Russian President said that he met the late president several times , expressing his condolences to the families of the  late president and all his companions.
