Czech traveler: Damascus is the oldest city in the world and the Umayyad Mosque is one of the most beautiful religious places

The Czech traveler Ondrej Havelka. highlighted the ancient city of Damascus and its historical monuments, especially the Umayyad Mosque and its decoration, and described it as “the oldest and most beautiful city in the world.”

In a report published today on the most widely circulated website in Czechia, the Czech traveler noted the exceptionalism of the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. He stressed that its importance lies in the fact that it represents a real pleasure for historians and religious scholars, as it includes an ideal historical section of religious traditions at the beginning of the cultural history of humanity.

The traveler accompanied his report by publishing 6 pictures of the Umayyad Mosque, which was built between the years 706/715, stressing that everyone who visits the Umayyad Mosque can delve into its ancient history.

The Czech traveler considered the Umayyad Mosque to be his favorite religious place among the world’s worshipping places that he saw, due to its history, architecture, location, and atmosphere, in addition to its unparalleled lively presence.
