UNRWA: 630 thousand Palestinians forcibly displaced from Rafah

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees “UNRWA” announced that more than 630 thousand Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip since the Israeli occupation issued orders to evacuate the city on the sixth of this month.

The Palestinian WAFA agency quoted UNRWA as saying in a statement today: “the Palestinians who were forcibly displaced from Rafah headed to the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip,” indicating that the latter has become unbearably overcrowded and experiences terrible conditions.

In a related context, the United Nations warned of a complete cessation of relief work in the Gaza Strip within a few days in the event of continued non-introduction of fuel into the Gaza Strip, stressing the “urgent need now” to open crossings into the Gaza Strip and increase the large-scale flow of humanitarian assistance.
