With the participation of President Bashar Al-Assad, the thirty-third session of the Arab League Council meeting was launched at the summit level in Manama.
It is noteworthy that President Al-Assad will not deliver a speech during the summit, which discusses a number of issues regarding which the President had set clear positions on various Arab issues, including Arabism, the Palestinian issue, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and reform of the Arab League.
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, handed over the presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain.
It is noteworthy that the duration of the leaders’ speeches was reduced to three minutes after it was previously left open.
The summit is to hold almost closed sessions in which the priority is given to deliberations and discussions more than devoting space to deliver speeches.
