Venezuelan Vice President: Palestine is a living example of the struggle for sovereignty and the right to self-determination
Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez affirmed that Palestine constitutes a model of the struggle for self-determination, sovereignty, and the world, with the exception of very few countries demands that it be accepted as a member in the United Nations.
“During the vote in the United Nations on this matter, as many as 145 countries spoke in favor of accepting Palestine as a full member of the United Nations, while only nine countries shamefully opposed recognizing it, and that is because these countries are subject to the control and hegemony of the United States government,”TASS quoted Rodriguez as saying in statement yesterday.
Rodriguez added: “The whole world demands that the State of Palestine be an equal member of the United Nations. This is not just a whim of a few countries, but rather the voice of the peoples and countries of the world that insist on stopping the genocide against the Palestinian people.”
Rodriguez stressed that Palestine represents a living example of the struggle for the right to self-determination, independence and sovereignty.
Last March, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro reiterated that what the Israeli occupation authorities are committing in the Gaza Strip constitutes a crime of genocide, adding: “The position of the Latin American countries demanding an end to the Israeli aggression and crimes against the Gaza Strip is clear and strong.”
