The Diplomatic Club in Syria visited the professions market in the Dummar Heritage Incubator.
The ladies of the Diplomatic Club toured the incubator’s sections professions market in order to be acquainted with of the local industry and the existing heritage professions and communicate with craftsmen working on projects.

“What distinguishes this place is that it is not only for display and industry, but is concerned with training future generations in professions to preserve these professions from extinction.” Mrs. Mikdad said.
Aya Bin Shaaban, the Head of the Diplomatic Club in Syria said to Syria times: “Our visit aims to gain knowledge about this incubator’s rare traditional heritage professions that are known in Syria”.
Bin Shaaban said: We saw that a special place has been prepared for these ancient professions to continue preserving the ancient Syrian heritage, and we saw diverse crafts.
“Despite the development of technology, traditional industries and handicrafts still flourish in Syria” she added.
Bin Shaaban also said: The Syrian craftsmen produce masterpieces of art despite of the economic crisis that Syria is going through.
“I feel proud to see this high precision and workmanship and skill that characterizes these crafts.It is indeed difficult to compare with other crafts in the world. This is due to the precision of the Syrian worker and his love for this craft,” Mrs. Bin Shaaban said.
She concluded by saying that these hard economic circumstances allow young people to develop and improve these kinds of hand crafts.
Rana Al-Sawwa ,the Director of Information at the Libyan Embassy in Damascus said:”The aim of our visit is to get to know about the rare traditional heritage professions known in Syria.”
She pointed out to the importance of introducing the ladies of the Diplomatic Club to this heritage in order to provide more marketing and promotional opportunities for their products in foreign markets” Al-Sawwa added.
For his part, Louay Shako, Director of the DummarCentral Incubator, said that that the visit of the Diplomatic Club aims to promote and market these traditional crafts.
Samar Al-Issa, Director of Tourism Professions at the Ministry of Tourism said: This incubator is a heritage incubator that includes sections of important and ancient heritage crafts that express Syrian civilization.
“The visit of the Diplomatic Club is very important as it strengthens the frameworks of cooperation between countries in order to create a kind of tourist attraction for Syria” Issa said.
