Al-Mikdad holds talks with his Iraqi , Libyan, Tunisian counterparts

Manama, (ST) – On the sidelines of the Arab foreign ministers’ preparatory meeting for the Arab Summit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Mikdad, met with the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, and reviewed the development of fraternal relations, cooperation and coordination existing between the two brotherly countries.

The two ministers affirmed their keenness to strengthen and develop this cooperation in various fields.

Ministers Al-Mikdad and Hussein touched on the ongoing efforts to hold a meeting of the Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee in Baghdad.

In this context, Al-Mikdad and Hussein discussed the catastrophic humanitarian situation of the Palestinian people as a result of the continuing aggression of the Israeli entity.

He stressed the necessity of immediately stopping the crimes of the Zionist occupation, preventing the displacement of Palestinians, and allowing humanitarian aid to reach them immediately and without obstacles.

On the other hand, Al-Mikdad, discussed with Al-Taher Salem Al-Baour, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of managing the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Libya, bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and means of reactivating them, in a way that serves the strengthening of ties between the two brotherly peoples.

In this context, Minister Al-Mikdad affirmed Syria’s support for Libya’s stability, unity and territorial integrity, non-interference in its internal affairs, and Syria’s keenness to cooperate with Libya’s unified national institutions.

The two ministers also discussed the situation in the region, especially the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, where they condemned the crimes of genocide committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people.

Also, Minister Al-Mikdad reviewed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar bilateral relations and means of developing them in various fields.

The two ministers also discussed developments in the situation on the regional and international arenas, especially the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The two ministers stressed the importance of the unity of the Arab position to confront the challenges facing the region.
