Syrian business delegation, participating in AIM Investment Summit in UAE, discusses with Russian and Egyptian counterparts ways to enhance joint cooperation
On May 8th, the Syrian business delegation participating in the AIM Investment Summit held in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, discussed with the Russian Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Federation of Egyptian Industries ways of cooperation in establishing many joint investment projects in Syria and contributing to reconstruction.
The Syrian delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry Ghazwan Al-Masry.
During the delagation’s meeting with the Vice-President of the Federation of Russian Chambers of Industry and Commerce, Dr. Dmitry Kurochkin, and the President of the Moscow Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Vladimir Platonov, discussions focused on cooperation in implementing joint investment projects in Syria.
The proposals presented by the Russian side were also discussed during the summit sessions, especially with regard to safe cities in Moscow, especially in the field of renewable energies and the advantages of the project implementation environment.
Al-Masry stressed the interest of the Syrian side in benefiting from innovative solutions and exchanging knowledge with major Russian companies and using them to support economic development, especially in light of the sanctions that Syria and Russia face to bypass them financially, economically and industrially and to find innovative solutions for this in order to remain within global competition.
During the Syrian delegation’s meeting with the Vice President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Dr. Mahmoud Suleiman, the two sides discussed means of enhancing cooperation between the business sectors of the two countries in establishing joint industrial projects.
Al-Masry called on Egyptian companies to work and invest in Syria in various industrial, commercial, agricultural, tourism and alternative energy fields, noting the Egyptian industrial and scientific expertise that can have an effective role in investment and reconstruction.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, Hayyan Al-Asfar, Vice President of the Syrian-Emirati Business Council Anas Maatouq, and Council members Louay Nahlawi and Walid Houria participated in the meetings.
