NEWYORK,(ST)_ Chief negotiator of the Syrian delegation to Geneva and Syria ‘s permanent representative to the UN Dr. Bashar Jaafari, reviewed in a political forum hosted by the Syrian-American American Club today, results of Geneva two rounds of talks, and the relevant ongoing contacts, stressing that the Syrian delegation worked according to national instructions and guidance, while the other party received instructions from abroad, and this resulted in the absence of a true national partner that contributes to its success.
He stressed that Syria is ready to continue coming rounds of negotiations in order to implement the draft agenda and abide by its implementing mechanisms and to engage in a track acceptable at the Syrian, regional and international levels to resolve the crisis in Syria, adding that “the situation on the ground remains the achievements of the Syrian Army, and the steadfastness of the Syrian people.”
” The world should understand that the issue of the presidency in Syria is an internal matter and that the Syrian sovereignty and its symbol President Bashar al-Assad, her should be respected, according to the political constitution approved by the Syrian people.” Jaafari continued.
On details of the mission of the Syrian official delegation in Geneva al-Jaafari indicated that it was a difficult task because of the divergence between the two parties to the talks, in which we missed a true partner in nation-building and to achieving the inter-Syrian dialogue without any external interference.
On the UN Security Council resolution to provide humanitarian aid to Syria, Jaafari added that “we do not have a problem that the so-called ” international community to bear the human “responsibility in Syria, but so far the Syrian government provides 75 percent of the humanitarian aid and all that we hear about conferences in this matter did not actually offer something in this regard, ” wondering why terrorism in Syria is funded by 100 percent while humanitarian funding does not exceed 7 percent by countries concerned by this matter including, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and others.
On the pace of national reconciliations Jaafari explained that the conflict in Syria is not only armed, rather has other forms, including national reconciliation, which represents a conflict of war to persuade persons involved to return to the right path and quit arms and fighting, noting numerous reconciliations that are taking place in several places in Syria, resulted in the return of hundreds of thousands of deceived and misled young Syrians to the confines of their homeland.
” The destruction of man is much easier than rebuilding him and Syria of tomorrow will not be like Syria of yesterday and the next reading will be quite different from what we have seen,” Jaafari emphasized, stressing that those who protect and defend Syria are honest people who scarify themselves for its own sake.
