International Committee of the Red Cross: Any Israeli attack on Rafah would be disastrous

The International Committee of the Red Cross has confirmed that any land  attack by the Israeli occupation forces on the city of Rafah in the south Gaza Strip “would constitute a humanitarian catastrophe.”

The organization said in a statement: “We warn that any Israeli military operation in Rafah will pose a catastrophic danger to the civilian population,” renewing the call to protect civilians in Gaza and ensure their access to the basic necessities of life.

The committee expressed its readiness to play its role in fulfilling the humanitarian aspects of any agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza.

Yesterday, the Israeli occupation stormed into the Rafah crossing and prevented the entry of humanitarian aid and fuel through it, while international organizations warned of a catastrophic situation that would result from this aggression.
