French police suppress a pro-Palestinian protest at the courtyard of Sorbonne University

French police forcefully removed dozens of  students from  the Sorbonne University after  pro-Palestine students  held a sit-in.

Agence France-Presse reported that French police stormed into the Sorbonne University to evacuate pro-Palestine activists from a classroom at the prestigious Parisian university, less than 24 hours after Prime Minister Gabriel Attal pledged that there would never be the right to disrupt French universities.

The protesters chanted  “Rafah, Rafah, we are with you” and  slogans denouncing the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip. The French  police attacked a number of them and arrested 39 .

Meanwhile, dozens of supporters of the Palestinian cause were gathering near the security cordon that the police had imposed around the university, chanting “Palestine will live, Palestine will achieve victory”.

This protest  at the prestigious Sorbonne University comes a few days after a number of protests were held at Sciences Po University in Paris.

These pro-Palestinian protests, which also reject the Israeli aggression on Gaza, started  in American universities from Columbia University to California and elsewhere. The protests were suppressed by the US police.
