Egypt and Iran stress the importance of strengthening solidarity and unity among Islamic countries

Banjul , (ST) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed the importance of strengthening solidarity and unity among Islamic countries.

The official spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that during the meeting held between the two ministers on the sidelines of their participation in the work of the fifteenth session of the Islamic Summit Conference currently being held in the Gambian capital, Banjul, research into the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the efforts aimed at reaching a complete and permanent ceasefire.

During the meeting, Minister Shukri stressed the importance of moving forward in encouraging countries to recognize the Palestinian state, thus contributing to strengthening efforts to establish it.

The two sides agreed to continue consultations with the aim of addressing all bilateral issues and issues in an effort to strengthen relations between the two countries in a way that serves their common interests.
