Arab Labor Organization: Workers are the basis of the renaissance of societies

Cairo, (ST) – The Arab Labor Organization affirmed on Wednesday that workers are the cornerstone that lays the foundations for the renaissance of societies and drives countries’ economies toward growth and prosperity for a brighter future.

The organization said in a statement on the occasion of International Workers Day: One of our priorities is the current challenges facing the working class in the Arab countries as a result of the obstacles and difficulties that prevent them from engaging in the labor market, especially with the rapid technological developments.

The organization added: The organization seeks to unify efforts at the Arab level to confront challenges and ensure the provision of fair opportunities, as the Arab Labor Conference issued the Declaration of Principles for the Future of Human Resources in Light of the Technological Revolution.

The organization pointed to the situation of workers in Gaza Strip as a result of the barbaric Israeli aggression, deteriorating living conditions, worsening health conditions and challenges within the occupied Arab territories. It pointed out that the political and economic restrictions imposed by the occupation impose unbearable burdens on workers in Palestine and the occupied Arab territories, turning creating job opportunities into an almost impossible task.

The organization stressed its firm and principled commitment to the Palestinian issue.
