Marathon in Hasakah on the occasion of International Sports Day
Hasakah, (ST) – On the occasion of International Sports Day, Hasakah Education Directorate held a marathon with the participation of 800 male and female students from various schools in the city.
Director of Education, Elham Surkhan said in a statement to a SANA correspondent that the marathon activity comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education’s plans and its interest in school sports to enhance the physical health and extracurricular activities of students, given the importance of sports in their lives.
She pointed to the role of sports in refining and developing students’ personality, enhancing the reality of their physical and psychological health, and providing them with life skills.
Surkhan indicated that the sports marathon, in which a large number of schoolchildren participated, started in front of Naeem Al-Lajji School in the center of the city of Hasakah, passing through a number of city streets and arriving at the headquarters of the Directorate of Education.
